PhishSeize is a student and academic project developed to demonstrate a phishing email detection system using machine learning and security analysis techniques.
2. Information We Collect
- Email content (sender, subject, body, URLs, attachments)
- Account information under our private email domain
- IP addresses for logging and security purposes
- Session identifiers and cookies for authentication
3. How We Use Your Information
Collected data is used strictly to analyze emails for phishing threats, improve detection accuracy, maintain system security, and display results to authenticated users.
4. Data Storage
Email data and related metadata are stored permanently in a secure database hosted on a cloud server (Hostinger). Access is limited to authorized system components.
5. Cookies and Sessions
Cookies and sessions are used only to identify logged-in users. Stored identifiers are random and do not contain personal information.
6. Third-Party Services
PhishSeize uses the VirusTotal API to scan URLs and attachments for malicious activity. Only data required for security analysis is shared.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent user data. Information is shared only when necessary for security analysis or legal requirements.
8. Data Retention
Email data is currently stored permanently. At this time, users do not have an automated option to request data deletion.
9. System Limitations
PhishSeize provides detection assistance only. Results are not guaranteed to be fully accurate, and the system should not be relied upon as the sole security measure.
